An LNS lower material rack with a lift (often referred to as a lower horizontal rack magazine or bar elevator system) is an optional high-capacity accessory designed for LNS bar feeders. This system significantly expands the machine's material capacity and minimizes manual operator intervention.
Key Functions & Mechanical Benefits:
Expanded Storage Capacity:
While standard LNS chain magazines typically hold up to 7 pieces of bar stock, adding a lower horizontal rack increases the total loader storage capacity significantly (up to an extra 25 inches / 635 mm of magazine space).
Automated Lifting Mechanism:
Instead of the operator manually lifting heavy bar stock, the lower rack integrates with an automated elevator method. It safely lifts raw materials from the lower rack up into the primary loading position.
Enhanced Operator Safety:
Eliminating manual heavy lifting drastically reduces shop-floor injuries and operator fatigue. Furthermore, systems like the LNS Sprint S3 protect this lifting area with light beams that immediately halt operation if an obstruction is detected.
Unattended Operation:
This combination allows machine shops to run extended "lights-out" or long-duration unattended production cycles because the machine automatically replenishes itself from the lower tray.
